Wow... 1000 DAYS with Xanga already...

Haven't been updating much lately... but wow... 1000 days... that's almost 3 years!

So many people coming and going in the past couple of months...

Actually, it's more like everybody's leaving, and nobody's coming back

Four people left already and three more people are about to leave in August.

Although it is sad to see them leave, I don't think it's such a bad thing...

Thinking in terms of my friends' perspective, everybody's leaving because they will be doing better and greater things.

I'm actually really happy for them!

With the technology that we have today, it is so easy for us to keep in touch.

There's always MSN, emails, facebook, and skype for us to contact each other and see how we are all doing.

And it's not like we will never see each other again.

Some places are just less than a day's drive and they are all easily accessible by taking cheap charter flights as well.

Anyways, cheers to all of you who are leaving and those who left already!

And it's never good-bye because I know where all of you are going to and I can easily hunt you guys down!

1. Monk McQueens Restaurant

Appetizer: Steamed Clams & Mussels: burnt scallions, garlic croutons, grape tomato-smoked oyster froth

Entree: Lamb Ossobuco Papardelle: braised pulled lamb, fava beans, wild mushrooms, port demi cream sauce, peppered Okanagan goat cheese

Dessert: Assorted Cheese Platter: frozen grapes & a selection of fine cheese from Vancouver's own Les Amies du Fromage

2. Elixir Restaurant

Appetizer: Chestnut, Celeriac and Apple Veloute with Truffle Oil

Entree: Pan Seared Trout with Creamed Leeks, Tomato Jam, Escargot Ravioli and Parsley Sauce

Dessert: Amaretto Creme Brulee with Almond Glass Biscuit

3. C Restaurant

Appetizer #1: Lobster and Kagan Bay Scallop Tar tare pear, cider vinegar gastrique

Appetizer #2: Lobster Bisque salmon gravlax, bay laurel foam, fennel pollen

Entree: Butter Braised Atlantic Lobster beef short rib risotto cake, squash, thyme, pinot noir, butter

Dessert: Pear Tart

4. A Kettle of Fish

Appetizer: Oven baked oysters rockefeller with spinach, pernod, scallions and smoked maple bacon

Entree: Steamed corn husk wrapped rainbow trout stuffed with spiced masa harina and served with a mild ancho chili and corn relish

Dessert: Stacked layers of creamy chocolate mousse, light cocoa meringue and dense chocolate brownie complemented with a cranberry caramel sauce

5. Hart House Restaurant

Appetizer: Baked Goat Cheese Salad, Basil Pesto, Oven Dried Tomatoes Olives, Baby Beets, Balsamic Reduction

Entree: Milk Poached Smoked Sablefish, Du Puy Lentils with Double Smoked Bacon, Sherry Emulsion

Dessert: Cookies and Cream, Layer of Devils Food Cake, Cookies and Cream Ice Cream, Chocolate Ganache

6. CinCin

Appetizer: Country Pork Terrine with Citrus Mostarda

Entree: Wood Oven Roasted Arctic Char Caponata, Nugget Potato, Citrus Vinaigrette (Add Jumbo Scallops $6.00 Each)

Dessert: Tiramisu, Mascarpone Creme, House Made Lady Fingers, Kahlu

7. Boathouse Horseshoe Bay

Appetizer: Firecracker Shrimp Skillet: Sauteed with garlic, sambal chilies, lime

Entree: Westcoast Seafood Paella: Shrimp, mussels, clams, wild salmon, halibut, & grilled vegetables on saffron rice (Add Alaskan King crab legs to your entree $14.99)

Dessert: White & Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake with raspberry puree and whipped cream

Best Entree: C Restaurant (delicious lobster on top of risotto cake)

Worst Entree: A Kettle of Fish (too much bones in the fish)

Best Dessert: CinCin (tiramisu with kahlu liquor equals excellent)

Worst Dessert: Monk McQueens (salty dessert equals blah)

Best Deal: Boathouse Horseshoe Bay (extremely large portions for all courses)

Worst Deal: Elixir Restaurant (small and unfilling portions for all courses)

Best overall: Hart House Restaurant (all courses were way above average and equally delicious)

Worst overall: Elixir Restaurant (all courses were average in addition to the small portions)
